While fishing down here in North Carolina we often catch alot of Bowfin and not Snakehead as most people believe. . Bowfin are native and Snakehead are an invasive species. As far a I know the Snakehead have not made made it up this far north from Florida. Below is an illustration of the difference between the two type of fish.
