Had to pick up the kids from summer camp today, so I decided to stop bye and see my buddy Scott Burden and check out Apple Valley Lake. We hit a little spot down the road from his house along the bridge and hit a mess of little bluegill, perch and crappie. All of them where dinks except one that Justina caught. I also landed a 12 inch bass while we where out as well. Scott says he been taring them up there in the evening around 8 or so, thats usually when the larger fish come in to feed on the smaller bait fish that we were catching. He is going to send some photos the next time he goes out.
Going to try and make it down and stay over night, so we can get out later in the evening and land some big ones. I would also like to thank Scott for having us over and grilling out for us today. The food was great and the company was awesome.
Is this lake a private lake? Ive heard that it is.
I believe to use a boat on the lake you must be a resident of the community but as for fishing from the bank anyone can fish there. I believe that the ODNR patrols it and a fishing license is required.
